Retirement sale

Post by franz »

I am now fully retired from the alternative fuel arena. I will be selling all of my remaining inventory of hard parts, electronics, fuel injection, hardware, etc. These items will be sold in packages, meaning, all of the electronics in one package, all the small engine electronic fuel injection kits in another, some left over Technocarb setups in another, fittings in another, and remaining mixers and vaporizers together. Hopefully, I will be posting some photos in the next week.

If there is any pre-sale interest, let me know by private message or email.

As of now, the Diagnostic Guide will still be available on Paypal.

Congrats on the retirement.
I did (from IT) couple yrs back..
Decided after near 50yrs of messing with cars and stuff in spare time, retire from that too.
Brought a trailer boat (sea not lake) Sold all the muscle and classic cars... spare parts specialised gear (data loggers etc).. donated heaps of stuff to local car clubs.. rest divided up into different metals and recycled.
We then sold up our land bank with houses big sheds etc, downsided ,moved to a semi rural town.
Close to ramps, harbour , bar to the tasman sea...tall the children and the grandchildren (who wisely made the move to their homes, few yrs back.
Still have a reasonable shed thu, kept the tool boxes, general tools ...
Once sort out our new house, gardwens, sheds, boat parking, house mods etc.. look to get a part time job between fishing and family in a hardware store or something.

So what are you planning to do now?

Retirement has several meanings, but in mine, it was finally quitting my day-job, the one that has helped pay the bills for almost 46 years. My wife and I have our regular home and our ranch, about 30 miles away, and both require almost daily upkeep. When you have a ranch, that also means something is broken and needs repair almost weekly, whether it is the big tractor, the Kawasaki Mule, riding mowers, UTV's, and the house itself. I'm glad I can fix most things myself, I just cant afford my fees (!).

Lastly, at this point in life, it becomes necessary to pare down to what is needed, not what I used to need.

Thanks for asking!

Not sure what you guys call a Ranch.. size etc
Here we have life style blocks, from around 2acres to 50 odd...not commercially viable in most cases, but certainly supply most of household needs if set up right... fill the freezer with home ground lamb, beef, pork..
The area around us is life style...
So we have a ready supply. M8 dropped a steer the other week,( on a day the bar was down!) hung for a week in the chiller, butched it (another day the bar was down), Also make pastrami in the smoker, sausages. And couple weeks before that a nice pig, Also cure and smoke bacon etc.
Lot work in breaking down a steer right down into cuts and vacc packing.

Then there is the local hunting, red deer, sika wild pork, goat, duck Canadian goose.

We nearly went lifestyle block way, but its a bit of a tie to have freedom to do other stuff when we like.. espec fishing.
Fishing weather and maintenance work weather are mostly the same and do far too much fishing... Also that Im partly disabled doesnt help either. legs dont work very well ...
Hopefully this season get off the coast for bill fish .

So we have a bit of both worlds, and the life style guys come out as crew on the boat.

Glad you have it all planned and well sorted..
Retirement is something 90%plus dont think about till they get there...We started planning, looking for small town, what going to be doing when the children where still teenagers... We notice those who have not planned, and most far better off than us, are stuck in little houses in the city.. do a litle bit of travel now and again and visit ppl.
