x450 mounting
Re: x450 mounting
Try again
Re: x450 mounting
That worked but now I need to figure out how to make it smaller.
Re: x450 mounting
Thanks for that C3H8.
They look like they are NOS (New Old Stock), are they still making these parts?
You can add pictures that re on your hard drive simply by going down to Attachments and then clicking on Add files. It'll bring up a gui for you to choose the file. The Img selector up the top of the reply box has always been a flaky thing and will not work if an image is moved from it original location or if there is a redirect involved.

Fuel flow requirements calculations
Engine air flow requirement calculation: CFM = Cubic Inches x RPM x Volumetric Efficiency (VE) ÷ 3456

Re: x450 mounting
Your correct. They are new. I'm not sure how long Proquip has had them on the shelf or if they are still made. He gets a few of these type of items from fellow distributors in the USA. Typically he would get them from Gann but I'm not sure even they make them anymore. Thanks for the add files instruction. I found Photobucket to be a pain even though it worked. I knew there was a way I had done it before but forgot how.

Re: x450 mounting
yes I'm interested, if they mount directly to the x450 then base mount the same as impco to a holley square bore throttlebody.
I cant see the pics

Re: x450 mounting
If someone could digitise that and keep the file it could be cnc machined on demand.
A quick typing of "Proquip Canada" into a search engine found this link http://www.proquipsales.ca/Simo X450a wrote:proquip have a website ?

Re: x450 mounting
That's the right website. Yes it turns the OHG size into a 425 base allowing it to attach to either a square bore Holley or any of the IMPCO adaptors that a 425 uses such as the AA3-86 for a quadrajet. Call Canada at (access international system) then 1-403-692-9388. They haven't shipped much internationally so it may take a couple of phone calls to check the shipping costs. Trevor or Tara can help you.
Re: x450 mounting
I should have mentioned. It will increase the height of your mixer about 2 to 2.5 inches.
Re: x450 mounting
I also should have mentioned that Proquip is primarily a wholesaler and does not sell to everybody. They commonly sell through distributors such as Raso or Repair shops. Depending on the part they are also limited to selling to Canadian dealers only. I suggest you send Frank a message to see if the part is available through him.

Re: x450 mounting
What's optimal Gahn spead bore or square bore adapter to x450
Re: x450 mounting
That really comes down to so many factors. Obviously the spread bore can handle a lot more CFM but the question has to be do you need that much? Two square bores can handle 1000 to 1500 CFM, maybe more. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on that. Also the spread bore requires an additional adaptor adding about an inch to the height. I like the simplicity of mounting the square bores and the ease of syncing the primary and secondary throttle plates.
