Cold hard start?

Post by Steptoe »

Winter is coming in ..and standing in the carport on chilly nights causes a slightly longer time to start.
Cold Hard start has been mentioned on other posts.
About a fortnight ago I accidently found the soln...
I remmembered a small note in a post by One of our resident experts, something like, lpg units are not designed to use the aaccelerator to pump at start up.
So I turn over, enough to get oil pressure up to about 20lbs, 3 or 4secs (enough to light my cigarette)
no accelerator
Stop..wait for about 5 to 7 seconds, no accelerator and instant fire.

I dont have a choke.

Works every time.

You guys should really re-schedule your winter. A winter in May is no way to go.
