I'm looking for a 73-10 sender.

Post by 51geezer »

Hi Guys -
My project is a '66 F100 which uses a 73-10 ohm sender in the gas tank. I want to use the existing in-dash gauge, but it is not compatible with the 0-90 sender that came with the propane tanks. I'd rather not add a gauge.
I found a suitable gauge on the internet. It is similar to my 0-90 unit, about 1 1/2" in diameter with two tabs for mounting screws. It is described as 70-10 ohms; I noted the number associated with it as 563050285 IP. Now, I can't find it. A search of the number results in nothing. My retailer can't find it either.
Can anyone direct me to this Ford-style gauge, which I know is out there?
Thanks, Eric.

If you haven't found one yet call Proquip Sales in Calgary. 1-866-692-8132. They may have some left. No such thing as a 73-10. 70-10 is the standard used on all older Fords.

Just texted owner. He has some in stock. They fit the Manchester and Sleegers tanks. You could also try the Propane Depot in Vancouver. With the cost of freight these days it might be cheaper if they have one sitting in their stock.

Thanks for going out of your way to help me. I have contacted both businesses and both said such a thing was not available.
I'll try again.
I might simply hang a GM 0-90 gauge under the dash for now because I have an old gas gauge and my magnetic sender appears to work.

That's probably because your being so specific. There is no thing such as a 73-10. The proper sender for a ford is listed as a 70-10 which is the way it is listed in a Ford service manual also.
