Turbo 2.3 ford

Post by Tohighpsi-1 »

I am looking for some set up advice for a project i am working on. I have a 88 ford turbo 2.3. I am shooting for around 250hp. I am wondering what mixer/vaporizer combo to run. I am also looking for recommendations on what configuration to run it in, blow thru or draw thru. Hank you in advance.

An Impco 225 in blow through configuration with a model L or E convertor/regulator with a manifold pressure line to the regulator so the regulator can feed fuel when the turbo is pressurizing the manifold is what I'd do.
Fuel flow requirements calculations
Engine air flow requirement calculation: CFM = Cubic Inches x RPM x Volumetric Efficiency (VE) ÷ 3456

Thank you. Do you have any experience with the 200d mixers? I have a 200d and a model e, I have heard of flat spots in the rpm range in a blow thru arrangement, any truth to this or is it all in the set-up? Thank you.

200D is way too large. The 200D is used for larger industrial engines with fixed RPM loads. CFM capability is 438 CFM. Older models had an idle screw but newer models don't even bother with an idle screw. The D in the 200 stands for dual diaphragms and air gas valves. The mixer you should be looking at is just a regular 200.
