Vialle regulator

Post by zamman61 »

Does anyone know the proper method of removing a primer valve from a Vialle d type regulator? My regulator powers a carburated Ford 460. Is the piston in the valve prone to sticking? Also does anyone notice a "groaning sound" when the primer valve opens.

The D type primer is removed by unscrewing the shaft after removing the solenoid. Once removed the piston will be inside the shaft but should just fall out. The seat will be inside the opening of the reg. Place a rag over it immediately. A spring is under it and the seat will go flying across the shop if it releases. You will see two slots on either side of the brass seat. use a small pair of needle nose and wiggle the seat sand it should come out. Do you have a schematic of the D regulator. If not PM me and I can email you one.
