For pipe threads, I prefer Teflon paste. Rectorseal is a widely recognized threadseal. It seams that every time I had a threaded joint leak, it was with tape. I use it for water joints but no longer for threaded gas joints, and that includes high pressure CNG if that makes any difference.

Thanks Franz, only just seen your reply there. My reaction times ain't what they used to be!
With my recent experience disassembling and reassembling the propane system several times get an optimum fit I used tape because it's easy to use and if you don't get it quite right first time it's easy to clean but I have noticed how it disintegrates into fine strands that are just perfect for obstructing tiny but critical components in a gas system.
Now I'm happy with the setup layout I think it'd be wise to do the final assembly using a paste.
