impco Model E versus Century model M6

they look about the same, cab i use the Century as replacement for the Impco?

The two products work at different pressures. Although an engine might run on both the Century will run richer all the way through the bands. The century reg has higher primary pressures but only requires .5" wc to pull the secondary diaphragm open.

so for the Century you need a special mixer?

Yes. Century made its own mixers complete with throttle body and a variable power valve attached to the linkage. It was more complex then IMPCO's, however I must say it worked well if adjusted properly.
