Why propane?
Hmm, with a lack of affordable modern conversion hardware and fuel prices being what they are, I'm hard-pressed to find reasons to keep using LPG in the States. When I factor in the reduced mileage I'm getting, the fuel cost, per mile, is back around $2.60-$2.70, on par with gasoline. And while the ...

That particular piece was custom-made for me for about $160 from some 5" aluminum pipe, etc. I have seen VERY similar ones for sale at automotive propane outlets (search this forum), but I needed one which was even more snug (in terms of OD) than the commercial ones to clear a beam under the hood. T...

Interesting. I'd still like to know how these systems deal with impurities in the fuel, the same ones are said to foul injectors. I assume there is still a regulator of some sort? Perhaps electronically controlled to lower the effective temp and keep the heavy ends in the vapor? $3000 definitely can...

Thanks, Franz. That makes sense, I suppose, though it's a damn shame. The US also seems to have sub-standard, high-sulfur diesel which is preventing the use of various aftertreatments long used in Europe for squeaky-cleen diesel vehicles. I do deal a fair amount with OEM CNG and LPG vehicles, though...

Modern / high-tech propane retrofits
Hello, all. Just finished my first propane conversion - see "Propane Jaguar Hotrod" in "My Car" section of this forum. It has the usual combo of 425/E, with a feedback controller. This is a great improvement on the original in terms of emissions, but is also a pretty archaic design. I would like to ...

Propane Jaguar Hotrod
Hello, all. Just finished my latest project - a Series II 1975 Jaguar XJ6, on propane. The pics aren't great, but I have more coming. I would like to thank the following people and organizations for the help they provided with this project (even if they don't know it): This forum Franz Hoffman's sit...
