Re: IMPCO part # AB1-26

Its VERY rare to have just one part out of a repair kit. Many times I have seen the price for a single component cost more than the kit. For example, for the Model J, you can order a RK-J-2, and you will get the premium internal components. The standard black diaphragms are the minimum grade compone...

Re: Franz's email ?? sending phishing !!

Hey guys, yes I am losing weight, about 30 lbs, but its due to South Beach diet, not some lame Russian hacker that got ahold of my address book! If anyone was offended, I apologize, now lets go after the hacker!

More parts for sale

I still have some parts I am trying to liquidate. I have several Woodward model E vaporizers, and Woodward 420 (clone of the OHG X-1) and Woodward model L (close of the Impco L) for sale. I also have a couple of Woodward 125 and 225 mixer bodies for sale. I dont have any adapters. I have a few Autot...

Re: new guy needs help

There are several versions of the EFI intake manifold which is really nice, and one I would really consider. However, there are just as many "X" type manifolds on the market that mount the carb in the conventional position. The Edelbrock Victor JR is an old favorite of mine. If you stay in the Edelb...

Re: toyota in africa, hillbilly conversion

No, NO, NOOO NNOOO! and HECK NO! What can go wrong! Are you kidding? Lessee, where do I start: Liquid fuel in injectors, freezing them over. Running dry fuel through gasoline injectors, burning them out. Gasoline injectors do not flow enough in vapor phase to operate on propane. Tuning? HAH! Yep, pl...

Re: Franz's diagnostic guide

I've been off the board for a while. I have been quite busy with my consulting business. If anyone wants the Diagnostic guide, its still available for $16.95 USD, through Paypal. Contact me for specific buying information. I dont have a E-store account there, yet.

Re: Need MM X450 & Model X-1

MM X-450 mixers havent been made for almost 15 years, maybe a bit longer now. Woodward acquired the rights to the mixer under what was a reported questionable license arrangement (there were conflicts as to who held the rights to the mixer, thus who had the rights to allow licensing). Woodward has t...

Re: under 10 sec 400m , turbo six Mustang

I have been following his exploits for a couple of years now. Its quite a machine. The underhood detail work is better than first rate, and easily show quality. He has hit a low of 8.98 in the quarter mile, through the mufflers, on straight LPG. He has three B-2 vaporizers and a single Air Research ...

Re: blow off valve on draw through IMPCO

From what I can see in the image, the BOV is mounted downstream from the mixer. If so, it wont work, as both sides reference the same pressure. It needs to vent outside. PLUS, and I mean a BIG PLUS, is the BOV in this position will vent air and fuel, and is a terribly combustible mixture. The BOV sh...

Re: In theory is mechanical liquid injection possible?

Temperature will play the biggest game changer. I would say its possible but unfeasible in practice.

Re: Thinking about Vapor Injection

any progress here? So far, no. I put it on the back burner, and probably won't do anything at all with this stuff for probably a year now. I believe I have to move most of the way across the country (2000 miles one way) in late summer, and the amount of work and time involved is going to be just st...

Re: Why so little advance?

A little refresh on the application would be helpful. An engine that suddenly starts pinging or detonating usually indicates a problem with combustion pressure, and if it is occurring at the correct period. Mechanically, it can be caused by combustion buildup (not that common on LP engines) or oil c...

Re: The Dodge Dart Dyno Day...

Boys, Boys, Boys, calm down! Even in the research lab we might play with temporary methods to establish baseline settings, or to determine if an idea is practical before we make permanent mods. I agree that a rubber band might help to isolate a total advance issue and that it is indeed a temporary m...

Re: Retirement and parts sale

Thanks to a generous partial purchase by Big Mikey, I sold about half of my inventory. I'm down to about what I would consider to be a decent price of $750 USD for the remaining parts. There are some interesting parts here, including some Technocarb stuff which includes TWO 210 diagnostic tools and ...
