Re: GM 6.2L inconsistent "ticking" noise?
Thank you C3H8 and storm for your suggestions and info on Flashlube. I ordered in a kit and installed it on Jan 30th. The next day I did a 100 km trip operating on propane and guess what. No ticking noise when I completed the trip and had it idling before I shut it off. The kit was easy to install a...

Re: GM 6.2L inconsistent "ticking" noise?
Thanks for your suggestions Randy. You are probably right as to why it "tics" on propane but not on gasoline. Last week I made a 75 km trip to Ft St John driving on propane. When I got there it was ticking. After a couple of hours I drove home and again it was ticking when I got home. At the suggest...

GM 6.2L inconsistent "ticking" noise?
I have a baffling problem with my 2007 GM Denali pickup c/w 6.2L engine. It has an ECO propane vapour fuel injection system installed. I have 118,000 km on the vehicle and it has operated on propane (duel fuel system) since new. I use Amsoil 5W-30 in the engine. For the past few months the engine oc...

Propane on direct injection engines?
Many of the new vehicles, including the upcoming 2014 GM pickups are utilizing direct injection(gasoline) as well as cylinder de-activation. Will it be possible to convert these engines to operate on propane with either a vapour or liquid fuel injection system? Are there systems available now that w...

Re: Roush propane mustang
This must be one sweet ride. It's great to see what can be done with propane and hope we receive more input on this forum from readers who have propane fuel injected vehicles. If there are more articles on the Roush propane racer or the other Roush propane powered pickups, hopefully they can be pass...

Re: Flash Lube Electronic Valve Saver Kit
Thanks for the reply Franz. I would like to add my observations on valve recession. You mention never seeing an intake valve burnt. I was involved in the propane industry for 37 years and our company operated 2 conversion shops so have a lot of experience in this area. From 2000 and on we experience...

Flash Lube Electronic Valve Saver Kit
Has anyone installed or had any experience with the Flash Lube Electronic Valve Saver Kit? It is a kit that dispenses a small amount of Flashlube valve saver fluid into the air stream between the butterfly valve and inlet manifold. Does using the Flashlube fluid extend the life of intake and exhaust...

Re: Thiokol FTP propane fuel tank
For those of you who can use European-built tanks, check out STAKO from Poland. Web site www.stako.pl. They build a beautiful donut shaped tank that can be mounted in place of the spare tire; in the trunk or below. It is available in a variety of sizes. A few years ago a small company in Canada impo...

Re: Propane fuel incentive in BC
Hi cousin....I looked up the BC website you mentioned and I think I found the legislation you were referring to. It reads: Motor fuel preferential tax rate (2.7 cents/lt) for propane purchased for use in operating a motor vehicle or stationary engine". If this is what you were referring to, it means...

Re: Propane rack pricing in Canada
Auto-propane in Dawson Creek, BC is $.649/L. Street price of regular gasoline is $1.039 and diesel is still up about $1.269. High diesel price is due in part to shortage of diesel fuel, altho that situation is slowly rectifying. Both my '07 Denali pick-up with ECO edi and '07 Escalade with Impco BRC...

Replying to LhMusL: Assuming the JTG liquid injection system works similar to the Bi-Phase liquid injection system, there should not be any cold start problems, or freezing up. I am quite familiar with the Bi-Phase system having the only one of it's kind in Canada, first on a 2002 Chev 6.0L pickup a...

From experience, I can tell you the best economically priced/fumigation system is any GM product, up to and including the 1995 model year. With anything newer you can expect back-fires. The newer Vortec plastic manifolds were designed to flow air with a ram air effect, they were not designed to mix ...

UB tank for SUV
A friend in the industry recently purchased a 2008 Denali SUV and wants to have it converted to propane. Anyone know of a good used or NOS tank that would fit? From experience, I would say a 14" x 10" x 30" UB tank would fit. I used to own a 2002 Denali SUV and that was the size I used.

Propane Fuel Prices
The majority of propane produced in Canada, at least 80%, is the by-product of natural gas processing. The liquids are extracted from the natural gas, including propane, butane, etc. Propane is also a by-product of crude oil processing. I believe the main propane pipeline supplying E. Canada origina...

auto-propane prices
Dawson Creek and Ft St John, BC are currently posting 69.9 cents/L. Prince George was 53.9 a few weeks ago when I was thru there. That price was at the Super Save station, while other stations I noticed were in the 70 cent range. I'm not sure why they were so low. they are notorious for price warrin...
