Re: DCR for a 400 ford & propane

havent built it...dont even know when I'll ever get to build it.
If I ever get to build it, it would get a fresh rebuild. Port n polish, basically just a stock rebuild with the cam and intake ...then any suggestions I can get.

Re: DCR for a 400 ford & propane

yup on there as pud as well...I searched around a little last night and found one guys build, with a 400 ford. He ended up with about 8.8:1 dcr and expected it to work well. It was still a build thread, never had the engine finished.

Re: LIke to convert to propane, but what do you think of this ?

im sorry if this is irrelevant to the thread...i dont have time to read the long winded posts here. I just thought I have something credible to add here. Last year I made a long distance move, and needed a truck. I found a 1991 F350 crew cab 4x4 with a 460 on propane only )have since sold it). It ha...

There was a Super Save gas bar that had propane on at a consistent 43.9 cents per liter, meanwhile every other g...

now heres an idea...find an MSDS for propane and see what the max allowable volume youre allowed to carry for private use. When I took the TDG course I cant rememeber if it was just diesel, or all fuels....but the max allowable private amount youre allowed to transport is 4000L IIRC (it was gallons ...

My bro in law has a shwack of em, my jaw hit the floor when I went walkin in his shop a...

Im no expert. Ive read here that 11:1 is a good high ratio for propane. With 9.5:1 and 6 psi your final ratio is 13.4:1 and with 8psi it is 14.7:1. The numbers were taken from a chart on the KB-silvolite site for final CR when using a supercharger. With the proper tuning you could be able to pull of...
