BLOS mixers and turbos

Post by Oddy »

Anyone know if a BLOS type mixer can be used with a turbo infront of it/them? Such as Turbo - BLOS - throttle body.

I don't see why not from looking at how they work. There used to be some European sites with better information on the blos setup. Do you have one running now in na form?

The Blos works on constant vacuum carburation principle, so does Impco. Given the price, questionable sources and spares supply of the Blos unit, I would prefer Impco.
But regarding your question, with a turbo setup you need to worry more about the regulator. The boost must be fed from upstream the mixer via a reference line to the ambient air side of the secondary diaphragm. Easy with an impco, hard to do with european-style regulators.
And the regulators primary side needs to be designed to raise the pressure as well.
