This post will go pear shaped if I can't post the intended photo, so please forgive me if it fails.
Wondering if anyone recognises it for starters. It is to be used on a lean bias logic enrichment set up.
Wondering if I can bypass original supplier.
Also curious if it has a preferred operating direction of flow
It is not marked
Instructions do not mention
Supplier not returned two enquiry messages
I am assuming the orange cap is the input side
Vapour solenoid ..know this one?
Re: Vapour solenoid ..know this one?
Hi Jono. This is the new VCS (vacuum control solenoid) from IMPCO. This is a new design but I believe it is the same as yours. Hope the picture makes it into the reply. They are directional. You can usually determine direction by sucking on the nipple. If you can get air through it that will usually go to the controlled device. If not that usually goes to the vacuum source. The orange end is just a low grade filter on the vented end to prevent dirt from getting in during operation.
Re: Vapour solenoid ..know this one?
Oops wrong picture.
Re: Vapour solenoid ..know this one?
You can see the ends are different so it depends on whether you are using connectors. I believe many of the OEM's Ford for example use the solenoid you posted. If your just using slip on vacuum lines the one posted above should do the same thing depending on the connector for the electrical. They appear similar but I can't guarantee it.
Re: Vapour solenoid ..know this one?
Thanks C3.
The orange bit is just a packaging cap
I will investigate with IMPCO thanks
