84 s10 Blazer

Post by blasphemy »

Hi
Just found this site. Great stuff.
This is my third propane vehicle:
84 2wd Blazer 2dr. Ford (yes) 2.3L auto - shaved head 11.5cr, ported & polished, Crane roller cam, Volvo dual exhaust manifold, turbo intake, Impco 425, MSD programmable timing system, V6 harmonic balancer, polished crank and rods.
I wanted a small utility vehicle with good fuel economy. I'm still cursing the days when gasoline was $1.10/litre. I think it will happen again. Propane here is $0.42/litre. The Ford 2.3 was the only 'real' 4 cylinder I could work with - strong engine, plentiful, cheap, lots of aftermarket and performance goodies. No, it wasn't an easy fit. This engine delivers about the same power as the old 2.8 but more at higher revs. Still tweaking and finding more power and fuel economy.
