Re: x450-x-1 starting probs/rich idle/no power over 4,000rpm
I was thinking today about going to connect the model e right to the x450 and delete the large one inch hose and fab up a bracket to support the extra weight. Im thinking that without the hose it should be easier on the cold starts. Not really much to do with the coolant hose routing tho, Just a lit...

Re: x450-x-1 starting probs/rich idle/no power over 4,000rpm
Lol,I hope he gets his power back on.. I spoke to a supplier down south that I usually buy all my propane related parts from today, he told me a few things that might help. The forklift tanks can be legal if you take the strap holder and put a bolt thru making them permanent. As long as they are bol...

Would the enrichment valve help..?....if so how and where would I hook the impco enrichment valve on the x-1 or the model e. I seen it threads in and has a vacuum hose bu...

Re: x450-x-1 starting probs/rich idle/no power over 4,000rpm
If I keep the idle up about 950 plus the afr change is less but its still more than should be I guess. Actually I wasn't aware but I am now of the tanks not being legal. Ill have to look into it to see if I need a frame or is a bed mounted tank ok. I was looking into a Manchester 20 gallon tank for ...

Re: x450-x-1 starting probs/rich idle/no power over 4,000rpm
I figured it out, Heres a little story. I swapped the filter and lockoff. If I run it with the one tank on it will idle fine, then take a ride about 1/2 mile and runs out of fuel again. So its not the lockoff or the filter same thing as before. So I crawled in the bed and shut the tank off and opene...

Re: x450-x-1 starting probs/rich idle/no power over 4,000rpm
Ill leave the filter on, no frost aslong as its tight...i had that twice. I drove the truck today, turned the tank on slow also. It ran good but still the same issue. It died about 15 min into driving around town but started right up. Gonna try the lock off tom and then if it still does it the reg. ...

Re: x450-x-1 starting probs/rich idle/no power over 4,000rpm
That exactly sounds like what happened to me the other day,The hiss/rush of fuel. When I shut the tank of it did click but I had no idea what it was, I thought it was since the tanks cold...thankyou...I use 2 43lb forklift tanks in the bed behind the cab. I'll fire the truck up today and not touch a...

Re: x450-x-1 starting probs/rich idle/no power over 4,000rpm
When I turned my tanks on yesterday I heard a rush of fuel go thru the lines. Could that check the valve in the tank..? The vacuum part I am totally wrong with, it has 8" when at idle. I checked it last night. I thought I was saying way too low. I was thinking of when it had the volley truck avenger...

Re: x450-x-1 starting probs/rich idle/no power over 4,000rpm
Pretty good story, I didn't try the switching parts idea, I thought the regulator was ok. When I started to stall it had me thinking, I did 3 things.. ....Ill swap tanks today and see what happens,Ill do it one step at a time. I have another filter and lockoff connected to the x-1 that I can ...

Re: x450-x-1 starting probs/rich idle/no power over 4,000rpm
Steptoe- Heat range #5 ngk plugs are what is in the pics, its what I have been running. I pulled em out to check them, they didn't look too bad at all. I put #3s in, they are autolites. I ran it for a while but not really long enough to check them I guess. I found one plug wire not snapped in but pu...

Re: x450-x-1 starting probs/rich idle/no power over 4,000rpm
Today I'm driving around town, temps right at 160. But it starts to die like its running out of fuel. The tanks full , it goes into real lean AFR and dies. Starts up but won't rev up and dies. Idles fine tho until it gets a weird rich afr and slowly dies. No ice or frost on anything either. When run...

Re: x450-x-1 starting probs/rich idle/no power over 4,000rpm
The line that is the timing line on the electrode is pretty nice. Its about 1/4 inch of the tip. I'll take a pic or two later of them. I changed em too to colder plugs. I prob shouldn't of tho. These ngks tho are stock heat range.

Re: x450-x-1 starting probs/rich idle/no power over 4,000rpm
I'll take another pic of that plug, when laying down like that it looks worse. The plug actually looks pretty decent. The only thing is the orange color 1/2 way around the ceramic.
