Junkyard findings

As I have a few older cars that I am trying to keep running, I visited a couple of junkyards on my way home from work. The first one, Van Ryn , a very clean and organized yard in Grimsby, didn't have anything I was looking for. However, I did find the owner to be extremely helpful with car repair an...

Impco makes 3 sizes of converters: Model J (rated at 100 hp), Model L (rated at 325 hp), and Model E (rated at 325 hp). There is no specific application where you would use the Model E instead of the Model L. The nozzle positions are different between the two and the Model L is a single piece design...

I have CGA Type III hose assemblies (hose with crimped-on connections) for sale but, if you are in the USA, you will probably find it cheaper from US suppliers. Because hose assemblies are completely manufactured, ask for a hose size and length.

The gas code is simply a formal guide for safe gas installations. If your local forklift shop has recommendations for safe installations, they are probably speaking from experience, but I expect their experience is in forklift installations and not off-road installations. They should have someone on...

I don't know what the lpg regulations are in your area but, in Ontario, only manufactured hose assemblies with crimped-on connections meet the code. You need to check with a local gas fitter to know for sure what is acceptable where you live. As for the eBay listing, the description doesn't list the...

Your supplier is correct, there is actually a difference between the two types of hoses. You are probably referring to a gas-rated hose listed as Type I compared with the liquid-rated hose listed as Type III. Type I is used in torches and cooking applications such as barbeques. Type III is used in f...

Local Propane Prices

As propane prices vary greatly from place to place, I have started posting propane prices that I see I as drive around. In Canada, you can check propane prices at GASTIPS . The Golden Horseshoe of Ontario is where I have been posting local propane prices. Another site that also covers the world but ...

This spark plug reminds me a lot of the Bosch Platinum+4 spark plug. From what I can tell from the Greenfire web site, this device ignites the fuel within itself and directs the flames back out into the combustion chamber. I am not sure how well the fuel mixture will flow through this spark plug but...

I'm very impressed. I haven't seen a Niva in years. Anyway, I haven't replied yet because I was hoping someone more knowledgeable than me would give you some advice about your Model 225 mixer. I checked my Impco manual, an there only seems to be an idle adjustment and no power adjustment on your mix...

Tanks in the passenger area

For tanks in the passenger area, a box enclosing the entire tank isn't required if the valves are enclosed by a vapour box. The hoses in the vapour box are lead to the underneath of the vehicle through a large hose connected to the box. Trunk-mounted tanks normally come equipped with a vapour box bu...

It is hard to tell exactly which nipple is which from the photo on eBay but I can see that the conversion involved adapting a mixer to the 2bbl carburetor baseplate from the 1976 Dodge van's 318. I'm going to guess that the baseplate originally came from a Carter BBD. I don't have a 1976 service man...
