Re: IMPCO 100 sipping from L size converter

these impco systems are very fickle on the down low mixtures and in the L and the E it is all to do with the height of the lever from the lid a slight bend on the arm and it will change the starting and idle mix but have less effect on the total mixtures on the E ( not sure of L ) you also have diff...

Re: Propane conversion on Dragons' Breath Mazda 13b engine

many ways to skin the cat with water injection . my first tip is to have a M18x1.5 nut welded into the exhaust, at least 800 mm down from the dump flange, pref about at an angle 15 degrees off the vertical and inclined 10 degrees with the flow ( and find a bung for it ) ( wideband use ) specialized ...

Re: Propane conversion on Dragons' Breath Mazda 13b engine

my part in it has been small and the full props need to go to the builder and the pipe fabricator still a way to go ..a heat shield over it all else it will give nasty burns climbing on and off and a water injection system is also planned so that we can avoid the need for a boost retard dizzy or an ...

Re: Propane conversion on Dragons' Breath Mazda 13b engine

turning out very compact ! but i think with that dump pipe no one will want to overtake you if you hog the right lane ! next we will discuss the secret plans to remove the wategate and put on a smaller turbo that has its coldside routed into the exhaust stream we then need a U turn on the dump pipe ...

Re: Dragons' Breath propane conversion .One Step Back ,

not sure on the purpose of the little hood .. the 225 doesnt have a "specialized" ref port as such ,, and for a while i just had a random fitting tapped into the dome at right angles however ( if you search enough or have a tool fitter mate ) there is brass bush fittings that come as a square dome w...

Re: rebuild mixer and reg.

is it because some mixers are rated as "FB" or "tamper proof" and as such the air bypass arangement is set for a much narrower range of adjust

as such it is common for some to blank the one on the mixer and add their own bypass valve around the mixer which brings a larger range of adjustment

Re: Propane conversion on Dragons' Breath Mazda 13b engine

while it seems like a complicated mass of hoses atm.. when you sit down and view it all in schematic you will see it is a very simple.. all analog / pneumatic control system , turbo and the mixer .. so after initial setup .. things will just work, using principals of physics ,, without added electro...

Re: Propane conversion on Dragons' Breath Mazda 13b engine

also curious if you still have the original exhaust pressure driven auxiliary ( 5/6 ) port actuators on you lower inlet manifold ? if you do.. then route each one to those nipples on the inlet manifold you highlighted recently.. the aux ports will now swing open at 2 psi boost,, and shut when you cl...

Re: Propane conversion on Dragons' Breath Mazda 13b engine

and PS.. while mixer is off you should tap 3 or 4 small threads around the lip of the entry , so that 3 ( or 4 ) small phillips head screws will act as nubs for the hose clamp to assist holding the silicone hose from the turbo delivery pipe when under boost ( or you could weld nubs, but the tap and ...

Re: Propane conversion on Dragons' Breath Mazda 13b engine

the EZ bends work and rubber hoses are cheap and not effected by vibrations or electrolysis if you have the mixer off ,, and is feeling creative.. take a cardboard template of the lid flange pattern as basis for a fabbed flange lid cover ( over the top of everything ) ( only required for later , whe...

Re: Propane conversion on Dragons' Breath Mazda 13b engine

hmm not a fan of shielded hoses ( cant see the rubber to judge its condition ) and thinks the lobster coil ss type hoses may be tricky and expensive
for mine i have conventional heater hoses but use external slip over form a bend type coils ( EZ coil ) to keep them from pinching off on corners
