Re: Thermostat, frosty morning

The missing amount of water (just under 2L) made the convertor provide a little richer mixture which I also noticed on the AFR on acceleration. yes.. going from a 180 deg thermostat to a 140 , will change the AFRs richer by approx 0.5 AFR pionts. To re adjust, the lever height in the converter can ...

Re: Thermostat, frosty morning

If it wasn't for LPG needing the cooling system I would never have realised the cooling system had lost all the coolant until it was to late and the engine was damaged. Closed ever got to that was a low coolant level, several times over the decades... the converter freezes up before the temp goes u...

Re: Thermostat, frosty morning

Re: LPG ignition advance with carbureted car

so is it not possible set timing correctly with old carbed system ? everything I describe is carbed systems.. if it s the "EGR" that confuses you....EGR was introduced in the early 70s ...and HEI elecronic dizzies introduced with higher energy output to over come the higher resistance of the leaner...

Re: LPG ignition advance with carbureted car

Basically LPG below 3000 needs a faster advance than petrol... hence why many 'cheat' by upping the initial advance... but simply doing that also increases the higher petrol cruise and WoT advances which means the piston is still coming up when fires (not literally but get the idea... this resulted ...

Re: Tank cleaning?

Further to the post above.. I assume that the concern is because u have looked inside a std BBQ/ heater type tank and seen the oil and crap in the bottom after a few yrs use.. The reason for this is because std , non automotive tanks take the vapour off the top.... automotive tanks take the liquid o...

Re: Recommended setup for 350hp small block mopar

I recon something has to be really wrong to get valve recession.. for a VERY long time Considering all the messing around I did over the yrs on timing, mixtures etc.. no special oils, just std 15/30 15/ 40 changed every 6 months... and when we finally stripped the heads down after a good 15/ 17 yrs ...

Re: Was the forum down yesterday (28.6.2015)?

automated billing system could not process his credit card and the system failed to warn him about the problem. Would that be something like when domain names etc become due, the credit card is auto billed? but over the yrs one eventually gets to the expired date of the credit card? In our c...

Re: Recommended setup for 350hp small block mopar

Which basically says that my real life example above is about the limit one goes to for single std setup.
Expecting any more ..thats just showing in AFRs, but not power mid 4K rpms, but definitely effecting low 5K rpms.
Storms numbers match pretty close to reality..
