Re: Vff30 with ohg vacuum hookup
A couple of questions and then comments on why the question is asked. 1. How far is your VFF30 from the model E? I ask this because of your comment on fuel coming from the mixer after the engine has stopped. If the VFF30 is a foot or two from the regulator that means you have that much liquid propan...

Also 600's are expensive. $800 to $1000 CDN. After that you would probably need different air valves and power jet combinations to get it right adding $100's of dollars.

Re: More Air Flow for a Model 425 on a 327 SBC
Darn, I just wrote a long winded reply on why not to use a 600 mixer and accidentally closed my browzer. Short version. 600's, as storm said are for industrial. They don't have an idle circuit. One has to be machined. They also are made to operate at lower RPM's so they have special gas valves plus ...

Re: TBI to semi-sequential MPI (VW Passat)
Checkout the older model BRC Sequent 56, BRC Plug & Drive or the Prins systems. Both used to include an option in the setup software to select bank to bank or sequential. I'm not sure about the newer systems.

Re: LPG injectors cutting out
Nicely done, however you are correct about the rev limiter. Since the ECU is a slave to the OEM Petrol ECU it should start cutting out the injectors at the same limit as it would on petrol. That's kind of puzzling.

Re: LPG injectors cutting out
Check two items immediately for injector voltage issues. 1. All the grounds for the propane system. If their not grounded directly to the battery run a jumper from the existing ground to the battery ground. 2. Check the relays that switch the power from propane to petrol. There should be one or two ...

Re: VPV valve testing
Should have added. This enrichment through the VPV allows you to close your power valve maintaining more controlled mixtures when applying part throttle to climb grades unless the grade is steep enough to demand full throttle.

Re: VPV valve testing
It is fairly easy to test. The VPV valve is normally open. Disconnect the vacuum hoses. Unscrew it from the regulator port. Either blow through it from threaded end or use low air pressure from an air hose. Air should pass through it. Next apply vacuum to the smaller hose fitting. Try to blow throug...

Re: Converting a GM Gen-V 6.2L direct injection engine to Propane
I'm surprised. I thought this post would have piqued some of our members interest. Some of the manufacturers have dabbled in this area in Europe already. Turbine Guy and I have already had some PM on this. I see the main issue actually being on the low pressure side of the system. The gasoline pump ...

Re: Found some dirt cheap venturi mixers online. Opinions?
Storms correct. A Vialle reg or similar europen or Italian reg would probably work good with these. I think the size is misrepresented though. The mixer may fit a 52MM opening but the venturii's appear much smaller. They are probably only good for 4 cylinder engines. The regulator you show would not...

Re: Transferring propane by feeding vapour into bulk tank?
All great comments. I suggested the galvanized to ensure no rusting, however, just maintaining a proper paint coating on the line may suffice also. I must also state that some of the regulations may have changed on the gasfitters side since I was last involved. The usual steel line was black iron, m...

Re: Transferring propane by feeding vapour into bulk tank?
Let's look at the regulations. Anytime you have a line on liquid propane with shutoff valves on both ends it has to be protected with one of two items. Either the supply valve must have an internal relief allowing propane to flow back into the tank even if the valve is shut off, or the line must hav...

Re: Transferring propane by feeding vapour into bulk tank?
Years ago it was common for farmers to place the propane bulk tanks on a stand or higher ground to use the siphoning action of the fuel. If the bulk tank is higher then the vehicle tank it will slowly fill the tank providing the pressures are the same. After all the weight alone of the fuel in the b...

Part 2 of the previous post. Conversions must be inspected every 5 years as dictated by the code. See 5.13.4. The last sentence in this post. These are the codes from 2010, however other then some amendments and minor additions they are the same for 2015 and 2020. The main changes are codes referrin...
