Re: Forum/site crash - 1 month loss of data?

I was away from Friday afternoon until late last night so I only learned about the loss of data this morning. I emailed my web host administrator before I left on Friday afternoon that my web sites are all down. Normally, the data center makes daily backups with a Raid 10 array but, from what I've l...

Re: 454 valve seats

I probably should have given my reply more thought. What I meant was that for a properly set up propane engine, valve wear is normally relatively low and similar to that experienced by an engine running on unleaded gasoline. Valve wear will be accelerated from the slow rate of combustion of excessiv...

Re: 454 valve seats

I think the welding and breaking of the weld between the valve and seat are a symptom of the slow combustion. When I say "energy", I am referring to the thermal energy (BTU / kJ) generated by the combustion of the fuel. It only becomes measurable hp once the hot gases have done work by exerting torq...

Re: 454 valve seats

I am glad to see that we have such passionate members here. However, like C3H8 suggested, let's keep the discussion civil. If you find that you're responding in anger or annoyance, wait an hour (or a day) and see if you would still use that choice of words. I read pretty much every posting here and ...

Re: after impco 425 hose connections....

C3H8 was asking for more information so that you get the best advice and he is a world-wide authority on LPG systems. Although the Model 425 mixer is commonly used on straight conversions, it is straightforward to use it in a dual fuel system.

Re: toyota in africa, hillbilly conversion

AWESOME< this is exactly the answer I was looking for, I KNEW it was possible, the guy driving down the road with the copper tube into the carb is an idiot though! what if he stopped the car and forgot to shut the line off? it would just be catastrophic... thanks so much for this answer, it makes t...

Re: 327 build - fine tuning

It probably wouldn't hurt to experiment with running less total advance. I would think that Vortec heads have better combustion than slant six heads and 65CrewCabPW found that his Dodge pickup runs well with "16 - 18 degrees or so at WOT and high rpm (3600)". http://fuelsforum.rasoenterprises.com/vi...

Welcome Tim. It would be more useful for visitors to this site and are in a similar situation if you had this discussion in the forum. It would also be good if you could share your CNG experiences with us.

Welcome to the board! Please fill in your profile so we know where you're located.

Presumably, you have "blow-through" instead of a "blow by" system.

It would be useful to know the primary and secondary pressures at the Model E's test ports. Photos would be handy too.
