For Sale: Impco Dual Fuel System

I have a complete Impco Dual Fuel System for sale, including 80 gal. tank. "E" regulator and 425 mixer. Currently installed on a Chevy C30 truck. Works normally, no leaks. Tank measures 65" by 23". I am located in Oklahoma City. Truck was parked on the street and was vandalized so I am going to part...

Thanks Franz. Yes, this is a dual fuel set up with mixer over Quadrajet. I am considering removing the mixer and just using gas for a while to see if that improves the ability to rev higher. Also, propane prices are ridiculously close to gasoline right now here in Oklahoma. Propane is currently only...

Does Impco 425 limit CFM?

If I remember correctly the 425 mixers aif flow limit is 425 CFM. This would be a significant limitation to my 800 CFM Quadrajet. Is my thinking correct here or is there something I'm not considering? I'm trying to figure out why my 454 seems to be running out of breath over 2500 RPM. Not that I nee...

The pull handles aren't connected to anything as everyone expected. Thanks for the help. Very easy switch procedure, raise rpm's and flip switch. And yes, it worked. After a few seconds of sputtering it ran smooth on propane.

Thanks again.

OK, as you can see I am completely propane system illiterate. I will attempt to follow the cables.

Sorry, it's a 1979 which is carbureted. If I understood more about what this pull handle actually did it would help. Unfortunately the truck came with no operating manuals. Do you know where I could get operating and or service manuals for the Impco? My regulator is a model E and I think the mixer i...

Anytime I am running gasoline, the "out for gas" handle should be pulled out. It is currently running great on gas with the handle pushed in. Do you know what this handle does exactly or why I would be running fine on gas with the handle in when it should be out. Sorry, but this has me confused. I r...

need help with switching procedure

I recently acquired a Chevy truck with 454 V8 and an Impco dual fuel system. I have a panel on the dash with two pull handles and a three position toggle switch. The pull handles are labeled "out for gas" and "prime". The toggle switch positions are; off, propane, or gasoline. My question is, what i...
