Re: Impco 425 on Ford FE 428 engine

Many of our Australian members have used a fuel ratio monitor called Innovator. It is fairly expensive but well known. Other similar monitors can be found on Amazon under the search function called Fuel ratio monitors. There are many available but the most important consideration is the monitor must...

Re: QUICK START>

Pretty good. It's not often we have someone post and solve their own issue in seven minutes. Just to be clear though. The VFF30 is a vacuum operated lock off and filter. The recommended vacuum source is throttle body vacuum (low vacuum). It only takes negative pressure of 1.5" water column to open t...

Re: questions about Impco E-regulator

Yes. The barbell shaped spring steel is the primary seat. It has a square thin piece of rubber on it that forms the seat. Typically this seat gets a groove worn it all the way to the steel leaving an imperfect seal. How can you tell which spring you have in the model E. The only way is the colour. T...

Re: Impco 425 on Ford FE 428 engine

The main question is have you adjusted your power valve? It is possible to feel better acceleration at 3/4 if your power valve is not adjusted correctly. The power valve should only be adjusted for best WOT operation. Some users try to use it to maximize fuel economy by turning it in which leaves th...

We would have liked to help but your not vey good at supplying any of the info asked for in a previous post. Since we haven't heard from you I have to expect you went back to the basics and solved your problem.

Re: No start,Quick start.

The reason for the lack of responses is you are posting in the wrong area. Many newcomers post in this area to introduce themselves, however most of the members go straight to the Propane index forum to look for members asking for help. Most don't notice posts in the Introduce yourself area. So, a q...

Re: What size is the large O ring in OHG mixer

What most newbies don't realize is that this gap is the air vent that allows the piston to move back down after vacuum pulls it up. Many think the o'ring is broken and will either try to glue it together or put on a similar o'ring that is intact. The gap is important to provide proper lift and to al...

Re: What size is the large O ring in OHG mixer

OHG X450 O'ring data.

Diameter: 2.6MM or .098"
Length: 12.25" or 31CM or 310MM

Trim length to allow small gap between ends. Approximately 1/32" to 1/16"

Material: Unknown but appears to be the same as a standard black o'ring.

Re: What size is the large O ring in OHG mixer

I should have also mentioned, check the colour of the secondary spring in the regulator. To use it with an OHG mixer it should be orange in colour. Blue works with IMPCO 425. Orange, the 1/2" WC, works with the X450.

Re: SBC 4mpg

You need to supply some additional information. Have you done any checks on the basic components. Compression: If you have never verified the condition of the engine do a compression test. Spark plugs: New and gap at .035. Cap and Rotor: Condition and replace if not sure how old. Plug wires: Same as...

Re: Truck is running great except…..

Where are you located. As I stated in your other post I know a local dealer in Winnipeg that has 3 or 4 of the 450 mixers on the shelf. He is willing to sell them. I can find out the price if you want. PM the information to me.

Re: What size is the large O ring in OHG mixer

I have a local dealer with a couple of used ones in stock. I'll go by there in the next couple of days and verify the size. I can't verify the material. It appears to be regular o'ring material. Maybe one of the other members know what it is made of.

Re: Won't idle

Sorry you didn't get immediate responses. An increased idle speed is almost always a major vacuum leak somewhere. 3000 rpm usually is an intake manifold gasket sucked in at the front or rear of the manifold. The end gaskets have a tendency to fall off the small ledge when placing the intake in posit...

Re: What size is the large O ring in OHG mixer

Measure the old one with calipers unless your talking diameter. This is not really an o'ring. It's just a straight piece of rubber like material. There needs to be a small gap between the ends when installed to allow the piston to move other wise vacuum will prevent the piston from moving up down. m...

Re: What mixer to use with supercharer

I would think the 300's would be preferred. The 450's will give you over 1000 CFM. Also repair parts are harder to get for the OHG's. At 6 PSI you will likely max out at about 650 CFM depending on the rpm capability of the 400.
