Re: drag racing recomendations
Step I like the RED w/ flames! oz what are triple gas valves? can either of you explain the pos and neg converters from my last post? I am definately getting excited about this project. Impco catalog http://www.impco.ws/download/2008MASTER%20CATALOG%20Color.pdf Goto page 76, called a 200T. Flows 42...

Re: drag racing recomendations
Well, give it a go on lpg, you know what you are doing based on what you've done with your other cars. Another alternative to 2x 425's are the big 200's in the latest impco catalog with triple gas valves. Just make sure all the components can deliver the hp you require, lines, converters, lock off v...

Re: drag racing recomendations
what's the .050 timing values on the cam? 299adv. seems a bit short to me for 6500rpm. what quarter times are you hoping for? maybe you could drop the max rpms back to 5000-5500 and 300-325hp and go for torque and run a single 425. as lpg is gaseous it won't drop out of the airflow like liquid fuel ...

Re: drag racing recomendations
If you can run methanol then use that you'll make more power. If you want to run lpg the hp limits are around 300-350, unless you double up things. The solenoid on the lpg tank is flow limited to around 350hp so you'll need 2 of them and the converters usually flow upto 300hp so you'll need 2 of the...

Re: Gas research questions for my v8 setup
I can only guess the impco 425 wasn't tuned right, as it flows 460cfm which is heaps for a stock 308.

Re: Gas research questions for my v8 setup
Hey turbov8,
Best thing you can do is put a impco 425 on. You probably don't want to hear that but it will be your best solution.

Hi Steptoe, I understand the effects of dynamic compression as opposed to static. Thanks Frank for the link. What I'm trying to understand is if propane is rated at 100 octane then why isn't the advance the same as using a 100 octane unleaded. The conclusion that makes sense to me is because propane...

Re: Combustion 101
Generally speaking and all things being ideal, a stoich mixture of propane has a flame travel speed of 2.1 feet per second compared to unleaded regular of 2.7 fps. The faster flame travel speed is keyed into its octane rating. Octane generally describes the resistance of the fuel to ignition (the h...

Jono, I used fittings that are available from the local bearing wholesaler, I think they were 1/8 bsp. Should work with NPT even though they are slightly different. Buy some loctite pipe thread sealer, very good stuff. First fitting was an elbow, then an extension to get above the top of the convert...

Because your ecu uses the air flap to control ignition you will be getting skewed values as the vacuum across the air flap will be different with the mixer in front of it. But if you put the mixer after the airflap then your lpg mix is going to be out. I would leave it as it is, as I don't think you...

Looks like the aussies are getting best prices at the moment on lpg. .605aud/litre and with shopper dockets that drops it to .565aud. Petrol though is a different story, 98 octane 1.55aud/litre. On a side note, US gal is 3.8litres and a UK gallon is 4.54litres. Good old imperial system making sure e...

Jono, just cap of the intake to the turbo and tee into the manifold line to the blow off valve (small hose going to the top of blow off valve), put about 15-20psi and this will show if and where you have any leaks. I have a Galant VR4 turbo and I do this every 12 months and it shows up leaks just ab...
