Here is a link to a century fuel products carb adaptor that I think was to suit Mitsubishi https://centuryfuelproducts.com/c-aa3-67a I have no idea what model to chase up for the 2 barrel throttle bodies I really need dual or at least mechanical secondary linkage that can be rigged If anyone has any...

Impco J - no secondary test port :(

Anyone notice the J and its clones do not have a test port for the secondary chamber? With such thin walls there really is no meat to add a 27 tip 1/8" taper hole and tap either Maybe a larger rivnut/ nutsert inside out might do the trick? If not possible it rules out using the J with Peel Instrumen...

Re: IMPCO 100 too lean idle circuit and load

On my na 1800 cc flat four revs to 6500 have tried lots of combos of converters and mixers and still get some lean flat spots, back off until mix Richens to about 17:1 and she takes off again Running an L converter with a 200 was most fun, intake roar fantastic Run the 200 off the Cobra J did not ge...

Re: Goodness me !!

Pretty sure I have replaced, no I have only recently replaced internal level unit for tank sender and was clean as a whistle inside. It has also had a ten year inspection internally and new safety valve. Sticks to magnet is black not rusty brown. Thought it was wear n tear on fuel suppliers transfer...

Goodness me !!

OK. I have not changed this filter since it was new nine years and 120,000 km ago. I have never found more than a pinch of crud in them ever in nearly thirty years. Only found this stuff when I shook the lock off as I rekitted my Impco J That dark fur ball in front of the element is the small magnet!!

Re: IMPCO 100 too lean idle circuit and load

yeah, here we go. This is my post from some time ago when I ran a 100 mixer and got results above. Now, more recently I tried the 100 on similar engine, same capacity just better breathing and could hardly start or run it, so I upped it to the 200 off the L converter and even though mixtures are gre...

Re: Twin mixers off one converter?

Hmmm.....maybe two 100 HP rated J or Cobra converters to feed the perfectly sized in air CFM 200 mixer? Thinking my lean bogs could be dealt with by the Peel Instruments CP401 nicely. I must apologise if my tinkering confuses people as I am playing with a non turbo version of engine partly in prep f...

Re: Twin mixers off one converter?

Thanks for explaining stuff C3 I have also run 100 and 125 off an L converter but this time whatever was up don't know. The 200 resolved everything at that point. I am mucking about in prep for turbo application. With turbo in mind, 1800 cc boosted to 12 psi and rev to 6500 its cfm comes almost exac...

Re: Twin mixers off one converter?

Gosh, they have looked in here almost daily in years gone. Took me months to pull a finger out and go for a diagnostic rune with tailpipe analyzer .....now I am running an L converter I rebuilt years ago and it sat idle for a long time before working nicely with a 125 on different engine in same ute...

Re: Twin mixers off one converter?

Franz is likely to be nodding his head thinking I am silly as a J and 125 is at the sweet spot of an 1800cc four...but am in learn prep mode for turbo and prefer learn on something free of a propane fed turbine !!

This little beast of 1791cc will see 12 or 13 psi boost up to about 6500 - 7000 rpm

Re: Twin mixers off one converter?

Well, I ran a 125 off the L converter on similar engine- flat four, 1791cc but it was a single port head and intake. This is twin port head and intake and did not like it so swapped the 200 in and (swear word) does it go now! Bogs down a little if I don't drive it to suit. Now have great induction r...

Twin mixers off one converter?

I have seen twin mixer set ups on big vee 8 s but never looked and remembered the detail so question is ...can I run a pair of 100 impco mixers off one L converter. Intended to be feeding same plenum not one per bank.

Any comments welcome

Re: anyone know these adapters part #'s please?

Yeah, the copy I had said the second part rotated the air horn 90 degrees and I figure the air horn is on the intake side. Maybe the air horn is also on the outlet. Pre internet listings! I have some e-copies somewhere of late 70's early 80's Impco sheets.
