Re: Modern setup vs. ancient factory propane specs on tractor
it is some while since I looked into the forum - has been so quiet. Am only using a 7" tablet hot wired to my cell phone so have not read the contributions fully I have taken in some figures such as engine size is 4.2 litre but lost the comp ratio. What are idle, working and max rev specs of this p...

Additional mixture base leaning
Having found I cannot lean my 200 mixer out enough using the idle mixture screw - and hand flowed leaner diaphragm selection has become difficult, I am considering trying a permanent hole drilled into the inner housing to lean mixtures further. This is only to get a lean base in prep for dialling in...

Re: air valve flow ratings hand printed
Aha, OK Franz. Thankyou. It is good to see you are still fronting to this quiet little forum from time to time I took a break on this little project when the main supplier near me had a staff member state he was not going to go through all his stock to find my desired number - can you believe it? Hi...

Re: Fuel odor from model e vent
Nice to see you have not blown anyone or anything up with this detectable leak! Mix up a soapy water solution to fill the atmosphere side of the diaphragm and see if it blows bubbles. I prefer silicone -2 diaphragms wherever I can avoid the black hydrin ones. Have you got yellow or black diaphragm? ...

the bigger the better IMPCO
defying what I learnt over the years, read in Impco training manuals, sizing charts etc, seeing same in practice by others to back up learning - I installed a 200 CA and L on my 1800cc ( what's that , 110.5 cubic inches? ) that revs out to 6500 pretty willingly. This time, I got a great running comb...

air valve flow ratings hand printed
Is there a good reference to understand the mixer air valve hand printed flow ratings? On my collection of 200 series I have what looks like 90 to 94 on feedback FB ( not facebook !!) air valves, yet to see or be able to read values on clean air diaphragms to be able to recall a figure. Today I open...

Vapour solenoid ..know this one?
This post will go pear shaped if I can't post the intended photo, so please forgive me if it fails. Wondering if anyone recognises it for starters. It is to be used on a lean bias logic enrichment set up. Wondering if I can bypass original supplier. Also curious if it has a preferred operating direc...

Re: Convert from SU / CD Stromberg to Impco recommendations.
Hello Storm and others, I have seen a 1967 HR GMH ute on propane and it retained the triple Strombergs or SU's that were on it I only got a quick look at it once, at night 20 years ago so memory is vague I think it was set up on the old basis of just supplying vapour via a hose to all three carbs an...

what 2 bbl throttle body fits this adaptor??
Here is a link to a century fuel products carb adaptor that I think was to suit Mitsubishi https://centuryfuelproducts.com/c-aa3-67a I have no idea what model to chase up for the 2 barrel throttle bodies I really need dual or at least mechanical secondary linkage that can be rigged If anyone has any...

Impco J - no secondary test port :(
Anyone notice the J and its clones do not have a test port for the secondary chamber? With such thin walls there really is no meat to add a 27 tip 1/8" taper hole and tap either Maybe a larger rivnut/ nutsert inside out might do the trick? If not possible it rules out using the J with Peel Instrumen...

Re: IMPCO 100 too lean idle circuit and load
On my na 1800 cc flat four revs to 6500 have tried lots of combos of converters and mixers and still get some lean flat spots, back off until mix Richens to about 17:1 and she takes off again Running an L converter with a 200 was most fun, intake roar fantastic Run the 200 off the Cobra J did not ge...

Re: Goodness me !!
Pretty sure I have replaced, no I have only recently replaced internal level unit for tank sender and was clean as a whistle inside. It has also had a ten year inspection internally and new safety valve. Sticks to magnet is black not rusty brown. Thought it was wear n tear on fuel suppliers transfer...
