Re: LPG Fuel Economy

still I dont think that 17mpg is very good for my van. I think now that I found out the problem with the idle air valve (thanks C3H8!) I should get it adjusted again. I will have to safety it soon as it runs out in december. (every 5 years the propane system needs a safety in saskatchewan) and i hop...

Re: '86 F-150

sounds great! I had a 89 4x4 like that one time. couldnt stand the layout of the dash and had to sell it. I keep looking at the right gauge instead of the left gauge.

Re: LPG Fuel Economy

my van takes roughly $30 of propane for 200km highway. Also propane is 107.9 cents/liter in regina and 93.9 cents/liter where i live. that is $4.084 a us gallon. Gasonline is 107.9 and diesel is 110.9 a liter

so $30 = 27.5liters - 7.26 gallons - 125 miles = 17 mpg?

Re: 1988 Plymouth Voyager - Factory propane.

well you were partly right. It was that idle air valve that was acting up, but it was not the part itself. It was the wiring lead to it. there was a couple wires that had some damage and apparently would short at random, causing undesired operation. At the same time I have the van in to get checked ...

Re: worth the buy?

yup i think it will be worth the $500. as for getting home there is a guy thats going up to red deer to get a couple cars as is, and this is in the south end of edmonton so it shouldnt be bad. I dont think we use salt out here if we can help it. its more of just sand. (still piles up under the frame...

Looking at a 89 dual fuel setup van. parked due to tranny going. look like a good setup or walk away? 3 liter v-6 1989 plymouth grand voyager. propane fuel and gauge switch under the dash. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a379/ANTheStuff/Cars/Propane%20Van%20-%2089/89PlymothVoyager005.jpg Under hoo...

Re: 1988 Plymouth Voyager - Factory propane.

you're talking about the part on the "front" side right? two screws holding it on and the connector is on an angle?

Re: 1988 Plymouth Voyager - Factory propane.

throttle cable works properly, and no audible vacuum leak under the hood. I will check into the idle air control. would explain the easy 140km/hr on the highway i would assume.

Re: 1988 Plymouth Voyager - Factory propane.

well its 2 years later and I pulled it out of the bush, threw a battery in it, hit the key to see if it would crank over and it started up right away! still doing that fast idle thing. Starts up normal then just slowly revs up. Really hard on the van putting it into gear. It makes it jump. Now is th...
