Re: What mixer to use with supercharer

You don't give us any real information about the 400 except it will see about 6psi and it is just for fun. Take a look at the formula in my signature and be honest when calculating it with RPM limit, then times the outcome by 0.5 and that will give you more than what your engine, by your input, need...

Re: Won't idle

If it not something mechanical like the accelerator cable holding the rpm high or the advance weights in the distributor stuck it will probably be vacuum related. Something like a vacuum leak or vacuum pulling the vacuum advance in the distributor. Is the centre hole in the Holley baseplate blocked ...

I concur there are some really good builds in the group. There is also a nice mixture of engines and locations where members are from. Very much like here but on FB.

Re: LP Gas future

I'm all for EVs as they do have a place in the market but LPG still has a place in the market here to. Our problem here is misinformation spread by various groups on both side of the political spectrum as well as both side of industry. While I am NOT an ALP voter they are correct when they say we ha...

Anyone know if or where a guy may be able to find this book?
Contact Franz through his profile on here. That's the only way I know to get in touch with him. Frank and C3H8 may be able to help more.

Re: Octane rating propane / butane

Butane has a RON of 94, Propane has a RON of 110-112. 50-50 split would make it RON 102. 60% B - 40% P would make it RON 100, 40% B - 60% P would make it RON 104-105. To convert that to the AKI you need to know the MON rating and then you calculate it with (RON + MON) / 2. This usually, but not alwa...

Re: LP Gas future

I'm in the NSW Hunter Valley and most service stations have stopped selling LPG altogether. I'm keeping, and recommend to friends to keep, duel fuel. I have literally spent the last 3 months using E10. If our new PM would bring back the LPG scheme Howard had things would get better but I can't see t...

Re: Dies out when in traffic

I know this is now solved but a word of advice is pertinent here. Don't fall into the trap of automatically blaming the LPG system like the vast majority of people who do not understand how LPG works.A few quick checks will tell you if the LPG system is faulty otherwise look at the ignition and cool...

Re: LP mixers

Not being smart or anything but it will be worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I bought a brand new/old stock one last year for a very reasonable price (can't remember of the to of my head it will probably be in a thread here somewhere). Search on the various online market places and see wh...

Re: Tuning LPG on Chevy G20

When tuning for timing for LPG I usually (99% of the time) use the petrol timing curve until I have AFR/Lambda where I want it with between 1-2% correction (or <1% if possible). You will never get perfect AFR/Lambda in a data log as there are to many variables to deal with. "More fuel equals a bit m...

Re: Spark Plug type .750" Reach

What is the plug that the engine builder suggested you use? In a regular non high performance engine I usually choose a plug 1 heat range cooler for LPG than the manufacturers specification for petrol but high performance engines often use plug 1 heat range cooler anyway. So to answer your question ...

Thanks for letting us know how you have been going with it. Just remember the lower the timing (closer to TDC) for the same output the more efficient the engine.

Hi Franz it is good to hear from you, it has been a long time since you have been regular here. I've got to be honest and say I don't understand why you posted this and the thread below this one is one that suits your expertise down to the ground yet you didn't reply.

I still pop in on a regular basis..
