if youre after 170-180 psi- and atmospheric pressure is 14.7 psi, that means youre after 11.3-12 to one dynamic compression- but i think thats based on research octane- not motor octane. if you go on the motor octane of 97- which is erring on the side of caution (usually a good thing for a towing mo...

i would go with the long tube headers... theyll give better low end. id also raise the compression a little... at least 10.5, 11 would be better... just keep your dynamic compression between 9 and 9.5-1 and youll be good on dedicated propane. a pretty good dynamic compression calculator is www.edyno...

i was planning on an open loop system for simplicity, so thats cool. mileage wont be much of an issue because the 545 isn't something id drive every day, plus just from the displacement it would inherently get terrible mileage, not to mention its also going in a 5500 lb 1978 f250 4x4 truck-I'm figur...

sweet :) i wouldnt have to have dual quad :) i probably still will though, its cheaper and parts are much more available for impco and ohg. im just not sure how itll tune. do you think dual impco 425s or dual ohg 450s would be better/easier to tune for a relatively mild street 545 ci? or do you thin...

if i were building a chevy 350 to run on propane id probably use part #TFS-30300001 from summitracing.com, theyre 56cc chambers so youll get better compression for propane, theyre aluminum for better heat dissipation, and theyre 1000 dollars assembled for the pair... imo you couldnt go wrong... the ...

i got that rating off www.propaneguy.com, but havent been able to find out much about it- its like everything else for propane power- hit or miss... a little info here a little there... and the info is different from different places but the basics are still the same- oil stays clean so oil lubed pa...

depending on your rpms the ohg 450 may work, but youd probably be better off with the technocarb 700 cfm mixer or a dual quad setup with dual 425 impcos... im building basically the same thing only im stroking my 460 to 545 so at 5000 rpm i need about 800 cfm... so im going for the dual 425 setup :-...

yep id say its the stall too... youd be better off with a little more compression and a 2200 rpm stall, and try some smaller headers... a 5.0 l shouldnt need more than 1 5/8" primaries... anything more and youll lose low end torque. the stall converter is the reason your car feels "doughy" below 250...
