Image Size Revision

Storm had trouble attaching photos to one of his posts due to the image constraints I have set up to conserve storage space. I have the maximum image dimensions set to 800x600 px and maximum file size of 800 KiB, where 1 KiB = 1024 bytes. 800x600 px seemed to be reasonable large file size a few year...

Re: What would it take to convert a Honda CT90 to propane?

I think sgtlethargic has CT90 motorcycle and I have my doubts that a 20lb cylinder would be the ideal tank in this application. A 5# or 10# DOT might be a better option. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_CT90 I've seen some examples on the internet (can't recall where right now) where people have ...

Re: Forum Logo

I resized your revised file to the old pixel size but it didn't fit right so I adjusted the property in the common file to a 3:1 proportion which seems look good now. Thanks again!

Well, that looks a lot better. Thanks!

Re: Forum Logo

Thanks for the reminder. I left the default settings at 1152 px from the upgrade and I found that the earlier version was using a 1920 px width, which I've now revised. FWIW, Google Webmaster Tools has flagged the wide screen width with the "Content wider than screen" error, which m How does it look...

Re: Forum Logo

Just did a site upgrade and I hope the site still works properly. One thing about the new version is that the site logo is now in SVG (scalable vector graphics) format while the image we were using previously (generously created by BigBlockMopar) was a PNG with a transparent element. I converted the...

Re: Starting problem with Model 425 Mixer on a 1995 Chevy S10

I let Floyd know about the post to this topic and he replied with: Hi Frank ,good to hear from you. I have the S10 running ok , I-had removed the 425 and resealed it to the TBI thinking that it may be losing vacuum and not able to open the air valve , that was not the case , the 425. is just to big ...

Re: Starting problem with Model 425 Mixer on a 1995 Chevy S10

According to Impco's catalog, their mixers require ~6" WC of internal vacuum to lift the air-gas valve off of its seat. While having a fresh battery and starter would certainly help to ensure that the engine cranks over quickly enough, it appears that Franz doesn't think that a 4.3L engine has enoug...

Re: Starting problem with Model 425 Mixer on a 1995 Chevy S10

Since he already has the Model 425 and it seems to run OK once he can get it running, I thought that a simple and inexpensive way to get around the starting issue would be to use an SV (Start Assist Valve) or VPV (Vacuum Power Valve). The better but more expensive fix would be to use a Model 225 or ...

Re: Which Holley throttle body should I use?

My guess is that the mixer has a bigger effect on flow than the throttle valves. I would go with the smaller bore size for better part-throttle control and make sure that the secondaries are set up for progressive opening.

Starting problem with Model 425 Mixer on a 1995 Chevy S10

One of our new members (floyd) isn't familiar with email and forums so I offered to start a thread on his behalf. I told him that the members here are much more knowledgeable than me and would be able to give him better advice. The following is transcribed from emails with him: Hi , my names Floyd ,...

Re: Bought my first propane van

I found some Autrotronics 8789-6 (Super Fix 1) installation manuals and have emailed them to you. Autotronics recommended the PN5952 for 88-92 Dodge vehicles and you might come across one on sites like eBay. The 5952 only did fuel mixture control and interfaced with the engine to prevent CELs. There...

Re: Bought my first propane van

The propane system should not affect your gasoline economy so I would leave in place, especially since the previous owner invested a significant amount to convert your van. Propane tends to be more expensive from places that sell low volumes of it. If there are any taxis or airport limousines still ...
