Re: Access Problems?

Thank you for the offer of help.

There has been a slight change in the configuration of the web server due to a change to my web account. The account change now includes a SSL certificate, and I expect to have this sorted out soon.

Re: Access Problems?

I only use a PC to access the forum and haven't noticed any login issues. A while back, one the members recommended switching to a secure site (ie, https) and I've been working toward this. I expect to have this operational soon but I do not expect that the web server changes would have any effect o...

Re: Site Down on 2018-01-11 to 15

Well, relatively busy. Although we don't have a very many posts on a daily basis, the December 2017 web stats show an average of 260 visits per day and a total of 3654 unique visitors.

Site Down on 2018-01-11 to 15

There was an upgrade for my web account to a new version of php. I have a couple of other phpbb forums with the same web host running the exact same version of phpbb which were not affected. Since those aren't nearly as busy, I practice on on them first before upgrading this forum. Downgrading the p...

Re: Impco 600

Let's not forget CTRL Z to undo. I've been able to go back several steps and I think this works in most browsers.

Re: Forum Logo

I'll switch to the PNG file. I was trying avoid making any more changes than I had to and didn't realize there would be difference between the 2 formats.

Re: Forumfix for the broken Photobucket images.

I'll be a bit busy in the next few days but I'm going to give this a try. Thanks!

Re: Forum Logo

After the upgrade, I was surprised to see the change in the logo.

As for the new logo, I like it. Thanks! Give me a few days to install it.

Re: 454 efficiency - Maximum CR

I could split this topic but I think BigBlockMopar added information about his own car for references to the points he was making rather than wanting to start another discussion. My understanding about improving fuel efficiency comes down to a two things: minimizing power losses maximizing combustio...

Re: Site Upgrade

If you have 2 windows open side by side of your 1920 px wide screen, wouldn't each window be 960 px wide?

Re: Site Upgrade

I believe the prosilver style does use both percentage and maximum pixel width. That allows the forum to scale correctly from mobile phone screens up to wide desktop screens. I find that it is difficult to read a continuous line on a very wide display because my eyes have to scan side to side in add...

Re: Site Upgrade

I was hoping the change in width from 1152 to 1280 would be more noticeable. I just changed it to 1920 px wide so it should take up your screen's full width.

Re: Site Upgrade

I think I found where to widen the forum and I increased it from 1152 px to 1280 px. How does it look now?

Re: Site Upgrade

I didn't want to take on the design of new style so I'm going to stick with trying ready-made ones for now. As for the wasted space, I thought that's what you meant Storm. I think the Prosilver style is designed to have a maximum width of 1152 pixels and I suspect this was done to make the text more...

Re: Site Upgrade

I think the request was to add FAQs a sticky topic, which would link to relevant posts in the forum. I thought that this could be done more cleanly and succinctly with a Wiki topic instead, even I was the only author. As you pointed out, Wikis need to be planned well but they can easily start off si...
