Re: Complex coverter with impco mixers?
Try TinleyTech in the UK http://www.tinleytech.co.uk/acatalog/Mixers_-_for_single-point_induction_systems.html (the BLOS mixer is about halfway down the page) i bought stuff from them years ago and they shipped to New Zealand so i would think they could easily get it over to your side of the pond. T...

Re: Complex coverter with impco mixers?
I'm running a BLOS mixer on a Lovato complex reg.....it works awesomely....its like driving a fuel injected motor.....i swapped to the BLOS after getting sick of the usual idle/ low speed running issues of the mixer ring i had on previously. The Blos has an adjustable separate idle fuel bypass which...

Re: Dual tank LPG system, 1 T-fitting.
i get the same loss of power when my tank is low and i take a long right turn as my pickup is on the RH end of the tank....i think that the liquid sloshes to the other end of the tank, and that gas makes it into the fuel line.....the regulator then isn't being supplied with enough fuel due to gas no...

Re: blow off valve on draw through IMPCO
if you ported it in pre mixer you would get a double strength fuel mix when the 'blown off' mixture passes thru the mixer again ported post mixer the only thing i can see being a real problem would be if you got a backfire intake fire making its way thru the BOV, the engine would stall out pretty qu...

Re: component weights?
I had our warehouse weigh the major components. Weight includes a 125 mixer, vff30 locl off, model E regulator, 12 inch hose, 60 inch hose and several brass fittings. Weight came to 9 pounds. This is just a scale for shipping estimates so I would peg its accuracy at + or - 1/2 pound. Weight include...

Re: component weights?
sorry....lol i was unaware that aluminium was not generally called "alloy" in the states....i'm in New Zealand, if someone here says that something is made of '"alloy" it is made of aluminium....if it has a Fe base it is steel, grade is determined by SAE number or EN spec.....if its chrome based its...

i have a slighly odd request....what would the impco complete system weigh for a motor putting out about 100hp? i've been asked to sort out fitting LPG to a hovercraft....and the system weight is kinda center to that but the Impco master catalog doesn't really have what each component weighs....i wa...

Re: Experience concerns
I fitted the system in my ute myself.....i got a run down on what was needed done legally and also what "best practice" which was a fair bit beyond just what was legally required....was told at the same time that it would be certified if it came up to par, and that it would be inspected alot more cl...

Re: 2 stroke diesels use valves at all?
the 4-51 detriot diesels didn't have any valves, they were piston port inlet and exhaust....the US navy used them in some small craft like tenders etc....they were replaced by the 53 series of diesels that were much more powerful for the same size

Re: air temp for intake - hotter or colder best
i know my ute likes warm air intake....my intake manifold has no water heating gallerys and i have a cold air intake and its noticeable in the winter (below freezing) that when the manifold cools down due to high air flow thru it for long periods (like towing) that the motor will hesitate a little w...

my ea81 was setup max advance possible without it kicking back on startup....it did about 90 thousand k's setup like that and it wasn't down on power compared to when it was running petrol either which surprised me....a lifter failure signaled an EJ swap was happening wether i wanted it or not :x lo...

Re: Mileage - Summer/Winter
i get better mpg in the winter....i think mainly because winter weather isn't the best for fast driving and hard acceleration my biggest MPG killer around town is attached to my right ankle 8) .....i normally get 25 mpg around town....if i'm trying hard and use the throttle like a light switch i can...

Re: Bad fuel
i'm running a lovato reg....complete with little arrow and the instruction saying "this side down" :D it is bad fuel....having a vehicle that suddenly won't get out of its own way without having anything else change and then magicaly comes right with a couple of new tanks of fuel kinda give's it away
