Re: How to set up a technocarb?
G'Day Storm.....you are not alone in trying to find info about the technocarb.....start cruising the forum. Slowly you will find most of your answers. I'm very slowly working on an installation myself..I'll tell all once I'm up and running....several local gas suppliers/fitters have told me that I h...

Re: Power Valve
Hmmm a small dilemma...My thoughts went to assuming there might be not enough room for the gas flow to "stabilise" before it got to the carby. Then I thought that right at the carby the 'calibrated ' flow is right there and it doesn't matter...turbulence might help. Both thoughts sound right. Anyway...

Power Valve
I have a technocarb and want to make hardlines for the propane inlets...Is there an optimum position in the line for the power valve. I would like to screw it directly into the side of the carb. Would that be too close ? Affect flow ? Otherwise I could fit it directly to the evaporator/vaporizer out...

Re: Air /Fuel O2 sensor tuning.
This was the question I posed to F.A.S.T..... I want to buy the dual sensor air/fuel meter but I need to know some things first. My engine doesn't have a computer so it doesn't have oxy sensor bungs in the collectors. The car has a 3" collector into dual 3" side pipes. Can I just make a centralising...

Air /Fuel O2 sensor tuning.
I'm looking at the F.A.S.T. Dual sensor digital tuning unit... P/N 170402 My engine is old school. No computers or cats. I've sent an email to FAST but had no reply yet. What I'm asking is a bit out of the circle...so here it is. Most O2 sensor monitors require a bung fitting at 90 deg. angle... clo...

Re: 302 Windsor distributor tuning ?
Thanks again for the replies... this computer stuff is crook when judging attitudes and personalities. I still prefer face to face conversation where I can read expression, attitude and moods. Although talking with someone across the ditch is very nice and handy !

Re: 302 Windsor distributor tuning ?
Think about this, there is no vehicle engine manufacture in the last 70 odd years that has a inital advance over about 8 to 10 degrees, ever wondered why? Damn near every car since the mid to late 60's had a Vacuum Advance....that's billions dollar of research , dynos. etc, yet people in their back...

Re: 302 Windsor distributor tuning ?
Non Vacuum Advance distributors are for dedicated track NOT street. even then usually have locked centrifugal, or magneto, with huge starters or remote starts because of the high loads with such high intiall advance....which = total. The carburettor and intake manifold have been sorted to suit when ...

Re: 302 Windsor distributor tuning ?
Holey dooley...that's one big answer. The car doesn't have vacuum advance, It doesn't have any knock sensors, or cannot be tuned by ear...it's too loud to hear pinging or knock. I have about 8 different configurations for spring and advance stop set-ups so what I really need is a good explanation of...

Re: 302 Windsor distributor tuning ?
At the obvious observation...I'm a bit thick and I have missed one thing. The "cent curve" I don't get it. I'm not up with the lingo what is "cent" bit ?

Re: 302 Windsor distributor tuning ?
WOW Thanks for all the replies. I'll play with these settings and try to convince the mate to get a dyno tune. One thing though I'm still trying to find out the timing curve. Does the curve come up fast to the maximum advance or is there a slower advance recommended ? I got the maximum advance ...th...

302 Windsor distributor tuning ?
My mate has a nice new engine that runs on LPG and he has decided to buy a new ignition system. I'm the bunny that has to set it up and install it. The system is a MSD mechanical advance distributor, coil and ignition box. The big item is the distributor. I need to set up the timing , advance curve,...

Re: new set up required
Hey steptoe, Thanks for the reply....I don't get on the net too often thus the late reply. My car has already passed the RTA s requirements. The engine is in their required horsepower range. The car was registered in 2002. I've got an 85 ltr tank in the boot and so far it runs pretty good . The only...
