Re: basics on tank gauge sender ?
I'm going to admit I'm not the brightest. The problem was a 50 cent fuse.

basics on tank gauge sender ?
I just bought a 1980 GMC/Grumman van with a 350ci on propane. It's running well but I don't know how much fuel is in the tank. I checked the wire from tank to dash by eyeball and see no problems. I'm going to check the dash gauge tonight by putting 12 volts to the terminal. How can I check the gauge...

Re: troubleshoot no start ?
Thanks guys. I'm about to swap over to another engine/trans and will see whether it's financially feasible to keep the propane. The setup is 21 years old and there is significant rust on the propane tanks. I am going to talk to an auto propane service and see what's needed to bring it up to code. Un...

Re: troubleshoot no start ?
Got it fired up with the help of my wife. It turns out I needed to press the primer button [under the hood in the center of the vaporizer?] at the same time as turning the key. I couldn't reach both by myself so was stymied. It turns out this motor has 592,500 Km on it so probably is on it's last le...

Re: troubleshoot no start ?
Thanks for responding. Immediately before changing plugs and air filter the engine was running. I have spark, I used a spark-plug wire and spark-plug grounded to the engine to confirm. I never moved the distributor so the only way I can think of for the timing to be out is for the plug wires to be o...

Re: troubleshoot no start ?
I checked my timing and it seems correct. Compression on #1 and rotor was pointing at slightly past the #1 on cap. Tried cranking over while hose was disconnected from top of "carb" and can smell no propane. Out of fuel? Checked at relief valve at filling point and white vapor escapes when cracked.....

Re: multi tank-one won't empty
Hey all, thanks to all who helped. I seemed to have gotten the van running but ran into some electrical issues which I finally resolved. Hence the delayed thank you.

Re: multi tank-one won't empty
Hey all, I've removed the t fitting/valve. How much pressure will it take to get air through to the engine side? I didn't have compressed air handy and tried to blow through with my mouth, would this be enough? I wasn't able to get air through either inlet using my [diminished by 30 yrs of smoking- ...

Re: multi tank-one won't empty
No answers for steptoe, but I'll take pics of my system. One of the tanks is like you describe with two cylinders joined with 2" tube, two at bottom, two at top. The other tank is just one cylinder. Haven't gone to check the valve yet, and it occurred to me maybe the gauge sending unit or gauge is s...
