Emptying tank?

G'day,
I've removed the engine and driveline from my car, I've still got a tank that's 3/4 full of fuel. I can remove the tank, but how do I remove the fuel if I was to sell the tank?

Re: Propane tank won't fill after running on empty

Fair dinkum, you can't fill your own tank? Here the majority of service stations have LPG bowsers alongside petrol and diesel. Rock up, fill your tank, pay the price, drive away.

Re: Thinking about Vapor Injection

I've got a vaporiser and 4 x injectors in the shed that I'm not going to use, postage shouldn't be too expensive if you're interested. I can hunt them up and find the specs if you want, I bought them new for a supercharger/megasquirt project that isn't going to happen.

Re: Liquid Injected & Supercharged, AFR and Spark advice

G'day Chris, Not exactly what you're after, but there's some information in this thread that may point you in the right direction. http://fuelsforum.rasoenterprises.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1300 From what I've read on here, LPG likes more static advance, but less total advance, with the total coming ...

Re: Who Killed the Electric Car?

I don't get why electric cars cannot be self charging. Basic physics doesn't allow it, otherwise we'd have perpetual motion machines. It takes more power to turn a generator than it puts out, at best solar panels are about 20% efficient, wind turbines create drag, heat, noise, drag, friction are al...

Re: air temp for intake - hotter or colder best

A fellow in Australia in the 80's developed his own system for engine cooling involving a complete set-up first to achieve his result and that consisted of at least the thermostat relocated to radiator bottom hose as close to the pump as practical, a bypass hose between top and bottom radiator hose...

Re: Best practise idle speed setting for LPG.

When cold my 2 litre idles around 550, it would probably idle lower but the clutch rattle is annoying. When it's hot it idles around 950.

Re: What options for dedicated lp injection?

The one I've got seems to be smaller than the vapouriser for the gas carb I'm using. Valtek sell injector rails plus a sensor for vapour temperature. I've exchanged a couple of emails with Dan from cletusracing, he had a setup on his ford, LPG only, using the valtek injectors and megasquirt. He said...

There aren't many in OZ, the 124 coupe being the most popular. I've probably got the only Fiat on LPG.

A techedge wideband controller is $160, another $95 for a Bosch wideband sensor.

I've just purchased their DIY wideband kit with display and logging.

Re: Solenoid current draw?

It's a 30 year old Fiat, no injection, no petrol. I needed a converter that I could use with my Blos mixer, I also wanted one that could be boost referenced for a supercharger. The car has been running on LPG for 5 years, the GRA mixer is bigger than I currently require, I may go back to it when I g...

Re: What's the best stuff to detect leaks

There are commercial products available, we use this stuff at work.

But for all intents and purposes, dishwashing liquid does exactly what's required.

Re: Solenoid current draw?

I actually had a look at the solenoid on the converter, it's got 17W written on it, so less than 1.5A. The wiring diagram for the converter has the solenoid wired in parallel with the fuel line lockoff, so it's not used separately as a primer.

Solenoid current draw?

How much current do the lockoff solenoids draw? I've got one on the tank and one before the converter, the new converter I've got also has one for the vapour outlet to the mixer. With 3 in parallel I'm wondering if the circuit will handle it or if uprating the fuse will be required.
